March 23..... tick-tock-tick-tock.... tax day approaches....I was fretting over this non-holiday... not because it is a pain to fill out tax forms ... actually, the process is quite expidited now with all of the on-line services availble.... but, because of the fear of having to send the IRS a check! There is truly no way to psych yourself up about that, is there?
Well.... struck by a rare moment of intrigue about tackling the task, I sat down at the computer Monday evening, after a long day's work.... and Googled my way to a tax preparing service site. In just under two hours I completed the task. Yay. The icing on the cake? There's a refund check with my name on it! Not enough zeros on it to take me away to Tuscany anytime soon.... But, I can definitely buy some more yarn!
So.... facing the dirty deed head on at the beginning of the week resulted in a positive outcome, a "rainy day" treat... and eliminated the stress of thinking about it each day as April 15 draws near.
It has been a buzzzzzy time lately..... and I have done little more than put my time in at the office (which is not a small deed, mind you) and then get home just in time to crash into a temporary coma until the alarm goes off in the morning. I am filled with anticipation of Spring's arrival. Yes, yes... the first day of Spring was Sunday... but the weather here in Surf City has prevented one from strolling through fields of freshly bloomed wild flowers or taking a nice long walk on the beach..... Rain Rain Go Away! My flip-flops are achin' to greet the season!
In an attempt to lower my blood pressure last evening (it was a bad day at the O.K. Corral)... I picked up my #13 needles and a skein and started working towards some new something that I can give to one of my friends..... I didn't have the patience to follow a pattern, so just started creating my own "thing"... we'll see what it turns out to be. Usually those end up being the most fun! I was distracted only by the book I'm reading (Under the Tuscan Sun), causing me to daydream about taking a vacation there. Perhaps Francis Mayes has a spare room at Bramasole? Wouldn't that be fun to see!
