So... I'm back in L.A. - having spent a fun few days in Las Vegas visiting with my friend Bob... and braving the unbelievable temperatures (116!!) as we moved from one air-conditioned building to the next. Had breakfast at the new Wynn hotel Monday morning - very nice! And, me - the non-gambler - gave in to the temptation of putting a $dollar into a beckoning slot machine... and walked away a richer woman! Nice parting gift!
Now I'm back to life as usual. Sitting in my beige "cube" staring at the computer screen. Having brought my lunch to work today (lettuce wraps and veggies - D-lish!) I'm relaxing by passing a little time here on the ol' Blog... and then will go knit a few rows before returning to the ever-popular pile of paperwork... poor trees!
Oh - I did just pick up a copy of a new book - "Must Love Dogs" by Claire Cook. Just cracked the cover last nite - had me laughing in the first chapter (that's always a good sign!). I wanted to read it before the flick opens next weekend... (though I'm tempted to try and see the sneak preview this Saturday night...No, no, no... I'll read the book first...). I'm hopeful that it'll be a nice little picture - minus all of the special effects that summer movies seem to be filled with! Anyway, I just checked out Claire Cook's blog - kinda fun.... http://www.clairecook.com.
