i made this first one from an odd-man-out skein that i found in a corner basket at a cute little shop in northern jersey. it had no label, nuthin' so i haven't a clue as to the size of the skein (and, actually wasn't sure that i'd get a full-length scarf out of it...) but, i did - and it is one of my favorite neck warmers!

This next one was for a gift comissioned by a friend this past holiday season. i pulled a main color with two contrasting and got a very wonderful texture - though it doesn't come through well on the photo. then, i added silver letters (i found them in a craft store - think they're for some sort of paper press - but they worked!) and weaved the name of the recipient into the scarf. I received such a nice response on the first one, that i made three more - 2 as gifts for family members and one for mwa. the scarves are ultra long and narrow - so even when wrapped around the neck once or twice, they hang to your knees! not used so much for warmth than as a necessary fashion accessory!

the last one pictured here is made up of odds n' ends i had in my stash... very soft - and BRIGHT! fun striped hats soon followed (i'll get some pix of of those sometime soon!) and ponchos and capelets... yes... it IS a sickness!
i hope you enjoyed this very brief sampling of where it all began...
