vintage knitz

... i came across a couple of nice vintage posters while surfing the web today... and, since they fit the "theme" of this blog-site, i thought i'd decorate this post with them for you to see!

... it is wednesday... the middle-of-the-work-week... and i've already got my thoughts drifting towards the freedom 5pm friday will bring... yes, i guess i sorta resemble the woman on the right in this poster... knitting needle to chin (hopefully not the pointy end!)... contemplating... something... for me, my thoughts and heart are set on spending a good deal of time at stitch cafe' to work on my tunic top. if i keep at it, i should be able to finish it in about a week and a half... and that includes any unknitting that may occur! after getting through the unknitting of 13 rounds... i've finally been able to move forward, correcting the pattern where i messed up (it was a tricky TYO that did me in the first time... making the holes a bit too big, cuz' i didn't do it the right way)... but now, hopefully without jinxing the process by typing this, i'm into the 15th round of the particular section of the pattern, and all's going smoothly thus far...

now tell me, how many of you are so obsessed with knitting that you carry a ball of yarn and needles in your handbag at all times... and never leave the house without grabbing your larger knitting bag filled with various projects? i have to admit, i don't feel complete without my ball of wool and bamboo stix close by! and then... because i am a total knit-freak-geek... when i take my lunchbreak during the week, more times than not, i can be found sitting behind the wheel of my car(don't worry, it is parked, engine off, mind you!) knitting away! hmmmmmm, i know we have knitting groups... but i fear i might soon need to join a knitters "support" group... if you catch my drift!

my adoring hanna(ble)... (for those of you just tuning in, hanna is my ball-0-fluff-feline)... she seems to be getting a bit bent out of shape in the evenings once i return home after work... probably because she senses some competition for my attention/affection with whatever project i'm working on. right on schedule, she makes her way to my lap... never hesitating to vocalize her opinion of my hobby... the only time she seems to find any pleasure in my work is when it is completed and she can then sit slam-dunk in the middle of the piece! she could care less about the string of yarn... looking at it and responding with a large cat-yawn.... which is probably a fortunate thing for me, as i can leave my projects unattended. hanna has absolutely no interest in allowing her feline curiosity to investigate the works-in-progress. not something all of us can say, right?

... that's it for now... until the next time, as always... i wish you happy thoughts... and happy knitting! love.leigh (& the ever-so-amused hanna-banana!)
