... I had to share this photo with you... No, this isn't how I usually dress to go to the office.... but on Halloween (my favorite holiday!), I couldn't resist entering the company costume contest... and went as Ms. Tinker Bell - Executive Fairy... on her last day of work before retiring.... I can't believe I walked around the office like this for the entire day!#!?#! and think I scared all of the neighborhood kids... AND their parents!! What can I tell ya'?.... I love getting away with being 12 again for a whole day!Wow! I've really gotten 'off-schedule' in regularly posting... and chatting... about... KNITTING! Sorry... The last few months have been down-right bizzzzzzzy... thus resulting in my neglecting the ol' blog... Well, nothing like diving back in and getting things started again, aye! Despite the full schedule of late (not to mention (though I am mentioning...) the fact that I dislocated a rib which has caused havoc on my back and neck since September....) I've been keeping up with my obsession.... which would be, uh.... KNITTING... and am in the midst of several projects... To start, the debbie bliss cable sweater is still on the needles... finished the back (very pretty)... the front is progressing nicely... and one day (some day) it will grow arms and a collar and be done.... BUT, I continue to be enticed by more 'intricate' projects, and the poor pink sweater on 10.5's keeps getting pushed to the side, glaring at me from the corner of the day-bed as I create rows of daisy petals on size 2's to embellish the bamboo/silk 5"x7" picture frame holders I'm frantically knitting up to give as holiday gifts (design by Mel Carl - "Knit 2 Together")... The frame holders are quite adorable! A very fun idea, I think... and hopefully so will my friends who receive the crafty items this holiday! I have wrapped 5x7 lucite frames with the knitted holders, and, wanting to further personalize the gifts... have been making little watercolor paintings to fit in the frames.... which has been interesting given the fact that I'm no painter!... Not that I have the appropriate amount of free time available to get these done... but its fun trying! I'll be sure to get some photos of the frame holders on here for you to see.... You may just decide to pick up a copy of "Knit 2 Together" for yourself to get the pattern and start churning one out yourself! The weekend weather actually brought a bit of a chill to the air - YAY! and gave we So. Cal knitters two days of knitting bliss, as we pulled on our knitted beanies and basked in the excitement of the hint of a fall day! I knit up a very fun hat with Trendsetter Yosemite (chunky).... and got to wear it out in the wind today.... it caught attention from hat-lovers.... as it is very bright... a happy, cheery beanie! I've been making a number of pairs of fingerless gloves... and recently knit up a pair that included a nice lace design (patterned by one of my knitting buddies - Tracy)... they are, of course, PINK, made from a yarn called "Lush" and oh, is it ever! My stash is overflowing... and my knitting bag is getting a bit too heavy to carry.... I really must put myself on a restricted yarn diet! It being Sunday eve... I'm ready to head to the day-bed, get Harry-cat situated on the blanket at my feet, find some mindless tv show to entertain us... and get buzzzy knitting! So.... until next time.... Happy thoughts.... and Happy knitting! love.leigh.knitz :)
