Ahhhhh, what a nice Sunday.... 2-day is my mother's birthday... her 79th birthday... and to celebrate, mom, dad and i took a ride through the canyon to Malibu for the day and toured the newly-rennovated Getty Villa! The weather was perfect for our outing, which started with a delicious lunch at the Getty Cafe' - topped of by a little something sweet - peach cheesecake - in honor of the birthday girl! we joined a doscent-led tour through the various gardens of the Villa, and then made our way through the museum to see the impressive Greek and Roman antiquities - be it a mere portion of Mr. Getty's vast collection. We all enjoyed being outside in beautiful surroundings looking over the Pacific ocean... and I think mom had a very nice "special" day.
here are a few snapshots from today's tour... starting with a picture of the birthday girl and her date.. as well as some pix of other "happenings" in the recent week or so... including brother Craig's n' nephew Patrick's visit for Patrick's 8th Birthday BBQ... Harry-Cat's 1st Adoption Birthday (yes, we celebrate pet's birthday's in our household!)... and the completed right front panel of the soon-to-be pea-pod cardigan.
